Natalie Portman has been spotted filming her new movie, “Love and Other Impossible Pursuits” here in New York. Below is a photo of her and Charlie Tahan shooting a scene at Wollman Skating Rink in late November. The film is a “dramedy” (drama/comedy) about woman who must come to grips with the loss of her infant daughter while raising a five-year-old stepson and saving a failing marriage, based on the bestseller by Ayelet Waldman. Portman’s next film to reach the theaters is “New York, I Love You.” She will be playing the role of a Jewish bride in the anthological film inspired by the successful feature film ‘Paris, je t’aime’ that opened the 2006 ‘Un Certain Regard’ section of the Cannes Film Festival. Twelve filmmakers will direct a short film (5 minutes) illustrating the universal theme of encountering love within the five boroughs of New York City. Internationally acclaimed directors such as the Coen brothers, Alexander Payne, Gus Van Sant, Alfonso Cuaron, Wes Craven, Walter Salles, Tom Tykwer, and artists among which Elijah Wood, Juliette Binoche, Willem Dafoe, Nick Nolte, and Gena Rowlands.
